Magic Mountain is hosting Magic Easter Mountain, this Easter Sunday starting from 10am.
There will be so much for the family to do, with the Great Golden Egg hunt, Easter Egg Toss, Egg Throw, and Egg and Spoon Relays. There will be our glamourous Easter fairy, a DJ to dance out to and a very special visitor from our favourite furry Easter friend. Bring your family for an enjoyable day out this Easter weekend.
Family-friendly festival 5:00-9:45pm, Wed 3 January, 2018
On 3 January, Magic Mountain will host a vibrant, family-oriented festival, featuring scintillating live
music from acclaimed international and Australian artists, plus a range of kids’ activities.
Bring a picnic rug and relax. In the secure and intimate setting of the Rocka House stage, younger
kids and their families will be entertained with magic and circus from Bega-born magician Rhys
Davies (“The Trickster”)
Fresh from a seven month circus tour of New Zealand and a season in Melbourne, Bega’s very own
Rhys The Trickster returns to the valley with more tricks, more comedy and more hair. At only 18,
with a few hundred shows under his belt, he combines extreme juggling skills, cheeky comedy and
the outright absurd into an act you don’t want to miss.
There will also be bouncing castle, face-painting and of course, fairy floss. Meanwhile, families,
friends and guests can enjoy fine local food (Cheeky Mango tacos, Pambula oysters & champagne,
Dutch Pancakes), a hearty drink (cider, beer, wine – kindly supplied by Pambula Little Bottler) and
heart-warming performances from three exceptional talents.
Presented by TheMusic.com.au, we are thrilled to welcome the Austral-Canadian band Belle Miners
to kick off their 2018 ‘Powerful Owl’ tour. Formed in Berry, southern NSW in 2014, the band are
recipients of a prestigious FACTOR music award in Canada.
LA music magazine Jubilant describes them as having “a living, breathing quality to it like the best of
Missy Higgins’ work. The kind of feeling that both breaks your heart and mends it in the same
breath.”. The Music writes “Belle Miners trade in effortlessly euphonious soundscapes, drawing in
their listeners with lush, soaring harmonies, strong, powerful melodies and personable lyrics set
against deftly executed, acoustic-driven instrumentation.”
The Belles are accompanied by special guest, renowned NSW singer-songwriter and raconteur
Fred Smith (Australian Story, TedX).
One of the few Australian songwriters who has both a US Marine Corps medal and a US merchant
mariner’s license, Smith’s musical musings come with a lot of knowledge and experience. He spent
four years in America, working cruise ships and touring the Eisenhower interstate system, and
worked alongside American soldiers in southern Afghanistan. Now with the USA deeply divided, Fred
Smith returns from the dust of Uruzgan to revisit his fascination for all things American with his brand
new album ‘Great’.
Bruce Elder (Sydney Morning Herald) writes, “Smith is in tune with the times and prepared to reach
beyond predictable formats, he is endlessly innovative and creative. He is also very funny”
Additional support is provided by Girl on the Hill. Finalist in this year’s Count Us In competition with
Music Australia, her music was performed live in November by over 650,000 Australian school kids
and at the age of 14, she has a string of festival appearances and awards to her name.
